Luci MacLaren Scotland, 1976-Present

Born in Perth, Scotland, Luci studied History of Art at St Andrews University before she trained in Fine Art at Santa Monica College, Los Angeles. Upon graduation, she had her first solo exhibition at the Karen Lynne Gallery, Beverly Hills.

Her work has always been dominated by colour and movement, capturing a moment in time, a feeling, the essence of someone or something, resulting in a striking, powerful and dynamic painting which is both alive with movement and yet given space to breathe.

Her love of sport provides inspiration for her whether on the slopes or a day at the races; the excitement of being ‘on the hill’ or the exhilaration from the feeling of a horse thundering past, and the challenge of trying to capture a moment in sport is the ultimate challenge for her.  More recently, she has felt her work progress into the world of abstract through a continued exploration of light, atmosphere and movement.

Currently based in London, Luci has exhibited at Bonhams and various galleries around the UK and her paintings can be found in private collections in Europe, Asia, North America, Australia, and New Zealand.  A recent addition to Fraser Gallery St Andrews, Luci currently exhibits in our mixed exhibition.
