Emily MacDuff Scotland, 1995-Present

Emily MacDuff was born in 1995 and was schooled here in St Andrews at Madras College before going on to study at The Florence Academy of Art in Florence, Italy. During her studies in Florence she also undertook two landscape painting workshop with Daniela Astone, (2016) and with Ramiro Sanchez (2017).  She graduated in June 2017. 

 

She has recently had paintings selected for the Royal Institute of Oil Painters Annual Exhibition which will take place 29 November – 10 December 2017 at the Mall Galleries, London and she also exhibited at the Pittenweem Arts Festival in 2016 and 2017.

 

Following on from being presented with the Certificate of Merit for Higher Grade Art and Design at Madras College, St Andrews, her Advanced Higher Art portfolio was selected by the Scottish Qualifications Authority for their “Best in Scotland” exhibition at Strathclyde University in Glasgow September 2013.

 

In 2016 she won the 17th Annual Art Renewal Center Scholarship Awards and was awarded work-study scholarship from the Florence Academy of Art for the academic year 2015/2016.

 

Emily was selected as a semi-finalist for the Jack Wills Young Brits competition in 2014, reaching the final ten out of thousands of applications in the “Creatives” category.

 

In 2014, 2015, and again in 2016, she was awarded grant funding from the W S Phillips Fund to support her studies at the Florence Academy of Art and was awarded the Trustees’ Award for art two years in a row, 2012 and 2013 (Madras College, St Andrews).
