Catriona studied at Glasgow School of Art where she was taught by David Donaldson and Mary Armour amongst others. A wonderful observer of human situations, she was awarded The Somerville Shanks Prize for Portraiture in 1959 and continues to have an interest in figure painting. She also has a love and knowledge of horses, which often inform her subject matter. She works mainly in oils, which she handles with great facility.
Catriona exhibits widely and has been a regular exhibitor at the Royal Scottish Academy, The Royal Glasgow Institute, The Society of Scottish Artists and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. Her work is in public and private collections in the UK, Spain, America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong.
