A graduate of Edinburgh College of Art, Ann Oram has also spent some time as a part-time lecturer there and a visiting lecturer at the University of Northumbria. She was elected to RSW (Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour) in 1986. Over the years, Ann has spent time living, working and painting abroad and these travels have very much influenced and stimulated her work. She has now returned to work in Scotland in her new studio in Fife. She enjoys deconstructing the styles of a previous generation of Scottish artists, in particular well-known paintings by Peploe, Fergusson, Hunter and Cadell, taking the knowledge gained forward into her own work.
Ann exhibits in a number of prestigious galleries across the UK including The Scottish Gallery, Edinburgh, Macaulay Gallery, Stenton, The Thackeray Gallery, London, Portland Gallery, London and Richmond Hill Gallery, London.
