Born in Glasgow in 1961, Jacqueline Orr studied Drawing & Painting at Glasgow School of Art under the tutelage of Dr James D Robertson, Dr Barbara Rae, Dr Jack Knox and the late Dr John Cunningham. Her work is derived from subject matter that she finds visually stimulating, with particular emphasis on the use of colour and rhythm. Elected member of The Royal Scottish Society of Painters In Watercolour (RSW), she has won a number of awards for her work including, The Joe Hargan Award (Paisley Art Institute), RSW Alexander Graham Munro Award (The Royal Scottish Society of Painters In Watercolour), The Armour Award (Royal Glasgow Institute) and James Torrance Memorial Award (Royal Glasgow Institute).
