ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Art critics overseas have called Scottish painter, Stephanie Rew, a breakaway artist and one of the most promising young figurative painters this decade and shows at Tracey McNee Gallery in London, The Art Exposure Gallery in Glasgow, The Oisin Gallery in Dublin and has artwork in the Royal Bank of Scotland Collection at the Gogarburn HQ.
Born in Carlisle in 1971, Stephanie was raised in Edinburgh, and was educated at the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee. While studying, she became fascinated with dance and would sit in at rehearsals for the Dundee Repertory Dance Company. Combined with weekends spent at the National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh, Rew knew that figurative painting was the purest way to explore the beauty and grace of the human soul.
Her work has been singled out and recognised by International Art competitions from countries as diverse as Canada, Israel and the USA.
