ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Originally from Fife, John graduated from Edinburgh College of Art and is now based in the city.
After an extensive career in teaching, he now concentrates on painting full time.

His work tends to concentrate on the man-made environment of buildings, towns and cities, and how these relate to the natural environment. Slightly abstract in style, he starts with drawings of specific places, conveying the atmosphere and mood producing a representation of the place.

Currently showing with a number of galleries across Scotland and England, John also participates in a number of charity shows in the UK.
